Easy Picture2Icon is a very simple, neat and handy utility that lets you create icons from your very own pictures. It lets you load any JPEG, BMP, GIF, or PNG image file and convert it to an ICO image of the standard 16x16, 32x32, and 48x48 icon dimensions, therefore it can create fully-compatible Windows icons that can be associated with any application, file, or command. Unfortunately it doesn’t support creating ICO images of larger sizes than 48x48, like 64x64, 128x128, or 256x256, which are also often used for icons of higher quality.
This tiny application lets you create icons with transparent backgrounds. The users can choose which color to make transparent. Furthermore, the edges of the images can be cut or the image can be automatically resized (“fit”), to facilitate the creation of proper icons. Other than these, there are no other settings.
Easy Picture2Icon is a very small, simple, neat, and lightweight application. The fact that the images can be previewed before being converted into icons is also a nice thing about this tool. Last but not least, it’s also completely free. In conclusion, if you don’t mind not being able to create icons larger than 48x48, then this tool is a great choice for creating icons from your own images.
